Shireland Biomedical UTC Celebrates Students’ A Level Success

It’s a day of celebration for students at Shireland Biomedical UTC in West Bromwich as they receive their much-awaited A level results, enabling them to secure places at their chosen universities, on apprenticeships and in employment.

Students, staff and families have come together to celebrate and mark the achievements of all students, who have worked incredibly hard to secure these grades.

83% of A level students have achieved three or more A level passes at grades A* – E. In addition, 96% of students undertaking BTEC courses have also achieved qualifications equivalent to three or more A level passes at grades A*-E, mirroring the success of A level students. This means that students at Shireland Biomedical UTC have secured an average grade of Distinction.

Kayleigh Steed, Head of Sixth Form at Shireland Biomedical UTC, said: “It brings us immense joy to celebrate our students’ well-deserved achievements today and witness the remarkable growth and progress during their time here at Shireland Biomedical UTC.

A heartfelt congratulations to all our sixth form students from everyone at the Academy. We wish you all the very best and have no doubt that you go on to have bright, happy and successful futures wherever your journeys take you.

We would also like to thank our staff at the Academy for all their hard work and dedication in ensuring that our students are not just prepared for their exams, but for the road ahead as well-rounded, confident individuals.”

Performances were particularly strong in BTEC Health and Social Care, with 95% of students achieving at grades Merit or better.

Sir Mark Grundy, CEO at Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, said: “Congratulations to all our students at Shireland Biomedical UTC, your dedication and hard work have truly paid off. As you enter this new chapter in your lives, remember that your potential knows no bounds. We wish you all the best for a future filled with happiness, success and fulfilment.”
