SIXTH FORM

Key Stage 5

Mrs Kayleigh Steed

Assistant Principal and Head of Sixth Form

A very warm welcome to our Sixth Form.

Whether you are a prospective student seeking information on
what we can offer you or a parent looking for information on how we will support and nurture your son or daughter, these pages are designed to answer some of those questions.

Being part of Shireland Biomedical UTC’s Sixth Form will provide you with the academic and personal skills and qualities that you need to be able to embark on the next stages of your career; whatever path that might take whether a degree, a degree apprenticeship or employment.

Our aim is that you will develop into confident, independent, resilient, and well-rounded young people.

Our sixth form offers a supportive, innovative environment that provides a real feeling of community and family. This underpins everything that we do; from providing pastoral support with tutors who see you daily, regular interactions with parents and academic support to ensure that you can achieve the very best that you can.

I look forward to welcoming you to our Sixth Form.

In conjunction with other schools from with Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, our students will have the opportunity to access a large range of courses.

We will base a number of key programmes at SBU but there will also be the opportunity for our students to be taught at our other sites if that will benefit them. All of our sixth form learners receive a tablet device, and this will be the same here.
