Jo Lawrence, Head of Sixth Form at Shireland Biomedical UTC, said: “We are delighted to offer prospective students and their families the chance to discover the unique opportunities available at Shireland Biomedical UTC. Specialising in the health and medical sciences, our sixth form offers a range of A level and vocational pathways designed to meet the diverse aspirations and needs of our students.
“These tours are an excellent chance to experience our dynamic learning environment and understand how we support students in reaching their full potential.”
With state-of-the-art facilities including mock hospital ward and immersive learning space, students engage in hands-on learning experiences that bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. This ensures that students develop the skills, confidence and knowledge needed for success in further study and their professional career post sixth form.
Shireland Biomedical UTC works closely with leading institutions and industry partners, including Birmingham City University and local healthcare providers. These partnerships offer students invaluable opportunities for work placements, professional mentoring, and involvement in cutting-edge research projects, providing a direct link to the healthcare sector, academic and professional institutions.
In addition to delivering academic excellence, Shireland Biomedical UTC provides tailored pastoral care, expert careers guidance, and a diverse range of extracurricular and personal development programmes. These initiatives create a supportive and enriching environment that empowers students to thrive and build the resilience, confidence and essential skills that will help prepare them for success in higher education, apprenticeships, or the workplace.
